BEVA 371 AKRON® - Adhesive for Restoration and Lining

BEVA 371 AKRON® is an adhesive based on ethylene-vinyl acetate and paraffinic components, developed for consolidating and lining paintings, paper, and textiles. Activatable from 55 °C, it allows precise applications without damage, is dilutable with Diluente 372, and enables reversible operations. Ideal for temperature-sensitive works and delicate surfaces.

CHEMICAL-PHYSICAL PROPERTIES

Appearance: Solid, melts in solvent when heated

Odor: Characteristic hydrocarbon solvent

Stability: Chemically stable if stored in a cool, dry place

Compatibility: Compatible with natural and synthetic canvases, papers, and sensitive painted surfaces

APPLICATION METHOD

Take the required amount of BEVA 371 AKRON® and dilute with Diluente 372 or another hydrocarbon solvent in ratios from 1:1 to 1:6 depending on the desired penetration. Heat in a water bath away from flames until a liquid solution is obtained. Apply on the support or original canvas with a brush, roller, or spray, using a low-pressure table or vacuum iron. Allow to dry completely; the process is reversible with heat or solvents.

NOTES

Warning: always use silicone sheets above and below the adhesive; do not apply alone on rigid supports.
